Volunteer Policy Internship - London
Team: Policy and External Affairs
Description of post/typical tasks :
Policy interns work alongside the Policy and Advocacy Officer to help deliver the Medical Foundation's policy and advocacy strategy.
Key tasks include performing research for policy briefings, bulletins, reports and other purposes, and developing and implementing new systems designed to strengthen the effectiveness of the Medical Foundation's policy and advocacy work.
Previous policy interns have especially valued:
- Learning about torture, the rights of torture survivors and the UK's asylum system
- Gaining experience of how policy strategies are developed and implemented
- Leading research projects
- Attending external meetings
- Learning about different advocacy methods
- Study trips to Parliament
- Being part of a team
Special skills/experience/education required:
We require our policy interns to have:
1. A law degree (or be enrolled in a university course leading to a law degree); and
2. Knowledge of either human rights or refugee protection
