  • MF writers perform in Edinburgh

    Dates/time: Friday 22 August and Saturday 23 August
    Venue: Charlotte Square Gardens (22 and 23 August), Forest Cafe (23 August)

    The MF's client writers will share their writing talents at two key events on Edinburgh's literary scene.

    MF clients will perform at the Edinburgh International Book Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival alongside accomplished authors to read extracts from their own works.


  • Film screening: Grow your Own

    Dates/time: Friday 20th June at 7pm
    Venue: Gilmorehill G12, University of Glasgow cinema, 9 University Avenue, G12 8QQ
    'Grow Your Own' is a warm-hearted British comedy about a refugee family who receives a plot in a Liverpool allotment to help rehabilitate their traumatised father. All tickets sales will go to the MF.

  • Writing for Freedom

    Kent Refugee Help invites you to a Writing Workshop and Performance Poetry for Refugee Week. Free Entry.

  • Sponsored Walk and Cycle Ride

    Dates/time: Saturday 5th July 2008
    Venue: Groombridge
    A sponsored walk or ride along the old railway track from Groombridge, with a choice of walking to Hartfield (6 miles round trip), Forest Row (15 miles), or East Grinstead (19 miles).

  • Henley in Arden walk

    Dates/time: Sunday, 8th June, 11.15 am
    Venue: Meeting point: Free car park, Henley in Arden

    This annual sponsored walk covers a distance of 8.5 miles and promises to be a great day out and a fantastic fundraiser.


  • Midsummer Concert

    Dates/time: Friday 6th June, 8pm
    Venue: Chantry House, Henley-on-Thames
    Back by popular demand! "Syrinx", a wind quartet, will be playing a varied programme, including works by Rossini, Holst and Malcolm Arnold,
    at the delightful medieval Chantry House.

  • Garden Party

    Dates/time: Saturday, 26th July, 2 - 5pm
    Venue: Edinburgh, Willowbrae area, entrance £5 including cream tea or wine
    Cream teas, chardonnay and sweet summer sounds in luscious surroundings at this year's MF Edinburgh Garden Party.

  • Water of Leith MF Walk

    Dates/time: Saturday 31st May 2008
    Venue: Stockbridge (corner of Saunders Street and Kerr Street)
    An alternative to the Great Scottish Walk! The route is from Stockbridge to Colinton, and the various distance options are 4.5, 6, 8 or 9.3 miles.

  • Write to Life

    Dates/time: Friday, 9th May 2008, 7.45pm
    Venue: Friends Meeting House, Grosvenor Park, Tunbridge Wells
    Clients of the Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture will talk and read about their experiences.
